So I've had a huge break from the podcast, and I want to say sorry, and the break has been because this fall, me and my husband, we moved to France, in the south of France, in Provence and things doesn't really work in France, as they do in other parts of the world. Me, being Swedish, and in Sweden, everything is sufficient. You just plug things into the wall and they work. But what ended up happening was that the woman that we bought our house from, she pulled the
internet
connector thing out of the wall so it was all broken, and it took us about seven weeks until after a lot of but yes, we will come next week, maybe they say they come. They didn't come. Blah blah, blah, blah, blah, seven weeks of this with the internet company until they actually showed up and fixed the thing, and then we had internet, and this is in the countryside, so we barely had 'em. I was able to, like, respond to some emails and so on with my clients. But otherwise, I've been disconnected. I've been quiet, taking the time to actually understand the move that we've done, and also paint the whole house, clean the whole house, start to take care of the garden, etc, etc, etc, and actually understood that we have taken everything packed up, and we have moved to the south of France, but now I'm back online again. I'm hoping everything will work, and I hope that I can show up consistently to this podcast, because I really, really enjoy doing this podcast for you guys and hearing all of the how moments that you're having, and Black Friday is coming up, and Black Friday is a great opportunity to actually create some amazing offers, both for new clients coming in and The clients that you already have in your salon, because people are used to spending money, and it is a great way to secure appointments. It's a good way to have people spend money before they come to you, etc, etc. So I will do this in a two part episode. So in today's episode, we are going to talk about attracting new clients with Black Friday offers, and in the next episode,
I am going to talk about how you can
create amazing Black Friday offers for your clients that you already have. So today is all about attracting new clients. And I know as a hairstylist, you want to have new a new clientele. You want to have new clients coming into your salon and filling up your schedule. Because, trust me when I say this, even if you feel that I have a steady clientele, they will be with me forever. People will change. People will move. You will change just because you are a good fit for the clients that you have at this very moment, it doesn't mean that things will happen in people's lives. Maybe you're not the good fit anymore, and things will happen in their life and in your life. That makes it just things happen, they will start to come to you. And as you know, people say they cannot live without you. They say that you're the best thing that have ever happened. They cannot survive without you doing their hair. Then, all of a sudden, they stop showing up. They stop, you stop hearing from them, etc, etc, etc, that commitment, that they say they have things happen, and it might not be the right thing anymore. So I am going to go through 12 different. Type of things that you can offer as a special Black Friday thing to attract new clients. Where are you going? First of all, think about what kind of offer are you going to to offer? And my recommendation is to have three amazing offers. I'm going to give you 12 different things you can pick and choose and make something together out of these 12 into something amazing that works for your clients and works together with the service that you offer. And then I want you to start to think of, okay, so where can you post these offers? First of all, you want to have them on your social media. If you have a newsletter, like you're offering something for free for people to sign up for your newsletter. And there is a bunch of new clients that haven't been to you already, then you can send out an email with these three offers that you're going to put together.
Think about Facebook groups.
Think about other local services that your clients are using. Maybe they have a newsletter, maybe they have a social media channel. Maybe you can put a flyer in in their space. Maybe you can do a switch, like you are sending out their black Friday's offers and as an exchange, and they send out yours. Think about different social media groups, Facebook groups where local people are hanging out, etc, etc, etc. Be open minded. And I want you to go into the energy of I am going to attract amazing people that will see value in the offer that I'm giving them. So I'm going to go through these offers, and then we can talk about how we can mix them together at the end of this episode. So the first one is 20 US dollars, euros off of your first visit. So offer is new clients receive 20% off on their first haircut, color service, or whatever services that you're offering and you can put they have to book a certain time that you are maybe you all of those appointments that Never get filled open these special appointments up for your Black Friday offer so that you are filling up those awkward pauses in your schedule. And why this work is because a simple discount can
actually make a first time
client to actually commit to service with you. So you can put any price on this, but you wanted to make them feel like, Yeah, wow, I cannot miss out on this and make sure that, in order for them to get this price off what time period and when they are scheduling in, etc, if you are using an online calendar, you can actually create a special offer inside of your calendar and open special days for this to be valued. The second thing is to add a free add on on their first appointment. So if a new client books an appointment, they can get a free add on on the services that they are having. So it can be like a scalp massage, deep conditioning treatment, a hair gloss when they book any type of service. So here you have to decide, what could be the free add ons and on, what type of service do you want to offer this on all the services that
you offer, or how are you going to do this?
Why this works is because clients want to have something extra. They feel that they are getting something more, and they feel pampered and appreciated when they are getting this. So having some kind of add on to their first appointment as a Black Friday offer, I feel is. Is a smash hit offer, but I don't want to pick and choose here.
The third thing is, is offer
a free consultation, plus a discounted first service. So this is together with offering a percentage of a discount. And what I do in in
my
hair business is I offer free virtual consultations. But here is the but I offer free video consultations, but they have to pay a $25 deposit to get on a video call with me. As soon as someone shows up, I will refund the money if they book an appointment, that money goes towards that appointment, so they have had an extra deposit for that appointment. About 90% of all the virtual consultations that I do ends up booking an appointment. So it is a great way to test out, are we a good fit? If that client is a good fit for you or not, and they can feel that, yeah, this feels right. Yes, this person can create whatever it is that they want to have, and then you can have an add on discount if they are booking something with you during the video call. So this builds trust. It gets new clients a feeling of that they can get to know you,
and
that they can get a feeling of that they you are the right fit or not for them, so never offer free consultations without taking a deposit. And why this is so important is people want to before I started taking deposits in in person consultations or virtual consultations. I do not know how many times that I've been waiting for people to show up for their consultations. So if there is not an incentive of it actually hurts them in some way. Here it's losing their money to show up because life happens. Some people are not trustworthy. Some people just book an appointment for fun, etc, etc. So I want to make sure that you are not wasting your time. So please, if you're offering consultations, charge a deposit. It's super simple to put up a system that you're just paying it back as soon as they showed up for the appointment. The fourth offer could be a first time client haircut and blow out combo, or like a special styling combo, depending on what is included in
your
haircut services in another way. So what is something that you can make extra special that makes them go, wow, and they could get this at the discounted price, etc. But again, make sure that you are in control of when this could be booked. I don't want you to put all of these services out and then let people take your most high valuable times number five is buy one get one half off, and this is for their first visit. So for anyone who books, and this is for new clients. So if they book a first time visit for full price, if it is a haircut, color, etc, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, they can get the second service for some percentage of, maybe it's 1020, 50% of whatever it is. This could be that if they come for a color correction, their next visit is maybe a root touch up. So maybe that could be when they booked that in, but they have to book it when you are in the salon, and when they book that in and commit to that, then they can get a percentage off of their second visit. So we can also, number six, though, we can create a discounted. Packages for new clients. This could be that you are creating some kind of root touch up color haircut and then a gloss over it, or whatever kind of package that you know people really, really want. So you can create this special package that you know will take a little bit more time, and then you can offer this at some kind of percentage, and this will actually increase the likelihood of a new client booking several services at once. And this will actually boost your revenue. It helps you to create a bigger transformation for them, and it will boost your revenue and actually help them to come back to you. Number seven is get a free haircut with a color service. The offer could be any new clients who book a color service can get a free haircut included. People always want to have their hair color made. They want to look fresh and so on. And offering a haircut on top of the color service can really make them feel that this is an irresistible offer, so that could be something that you can offer, or what other things could you combine in a way you can go back to creating a package of different services as well and play around with this number Eight is to create an exclusive Black Friday new client gift bag. So any clients who book an appointment on Black Friday weekend will receive a complimentary gift bag. So this could be different sample things, hair products and other merchandise. And this could be that you can create the sample products for whatever the client needs when they're doing a big transformation with their hair. And this will be something that they feel, that it's valued, you know, that they're going to use products that they will love and will have a good impact on their hair. And we want this because we want them to have a great experience, because remember, your customer experience doesn't It doesn't just end when you have finished their hair. Living with their hair. Taking care of their hair is a part of that. So that is something that we have to remember, that how they are taking care of their hair, and living with their hair is a part of your customer experience. So if they have the right products, fall in love with the right products. Next time they come to you, they will end up buying these products because they feel that they cannot live without them. So number nine is limited time new clients package deal. So the offer is when a new client books package for three or more services and pay up front, like they get a special bond bundle discount. So how, when they book the appointment, they pay for the service up front and they get a discount. So this will actually ensure you that people will show up if you're not taking deposits already now for all of your services, that is something that I highly recommend, that you can start to do already now, because that will be a game changer anyway in your business, but paying upfront, they get a special discount, and this will really guarantee revenue and having people to show up Number 10 is have a price off your first highlight or color service. So you can decide on the price, because I know that you guys that are listening are in many different variations of business and the price range and your different currencies and so on. So decide on how much off you are going to offer on a color service. And people want hair color, they love it. And I want you to make sure that you're still making a pro. Foot off of it and there should be you should know that you're not offering this on a huge color correction that takes like 10 hours. You're offering this on some more simpler color corrections, or you can offer a smaller discount on the big service as well that that is totally up to you. Number 11 is friends and family referral discount. So the offer is a new client who brings a friend or refers a family member gets a discount on their first service for both the refer and the referred. So this is a way of getting the word of mouth out. Attract new clients. Get several new clients that, and that really, really helps you to create a great situation for you. And number 12 is a free deep conditioning treatment at any service. You can exchange this to any type of extra add on that you can add to any service, but it should be something that you usually offer anyways. So new client get a deep, free conditioning treatment with any service during Black weekend, Black Friday weekend. So this can help them to get fresh hair, etc, etc. Make sure that you feel that whatever offers that you want to offer, you feel that it's right for you offer maximum three things for new clients, and make sure that you have urgency. So make sure that you write in your text or your images. So when you talk on video, the urgency. So how long is these offers valid? Put dates on it, because I know now nowadays, Black Friday weekend used to be three days. Now it's like cyber week, a single week all of these different things. So decide on a time period when you're going to offer this and it goes away at the end date period. And decide on when, when can they book these things? You don't have to have that in the offer. It's say that is something you do when you start to communicate with them, make sure that you feel that you're aligned with the offers that you're offering, and make sure that you're still making a profit on these offers. So
play around with this.
Look at how can I create three amazing offers that will move all of those followers into actually paying customers in your salon, and I know that when you actually have these people in the salon, you will wow them with amazing things. So they will be super, super happy with whatever it is that you're doing. So you will have people come for the next appointment, the next appointment start to create these amazing offers in the next episode of this podcast. So I made this into two part episode. I'm going to go through different things that you can offer for the clients that you already have in this law. So make sure to start to creating these amazing Black Friday offers. Make sure that you get eyeballs on them. Make sure that people know and are aware of that you're offering these things.
